The Global Forum on MSM & HIV
The Global Forum on Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM) & HIV was first convened at the 2006 International AIDS Conference in Toronto . We are a loose network of civil society groups, AIDS organizations, MSM groups and other agencies that works at global and national levels to advocate for improved HIV programming for MSM. The Forum was formed in response to a shared concern that current HIV strategies do not adequately address the needs of MSM, a dearth exacerbated by persistent denial and human rights abuses.

What We Believe

Human rights and social justice are key to the health and well being of MSM and other sexual and gender minorities. We consider addressing these issues essential to improving prevention, care and treatment for MSM.

Effective responses to HIV/AIDS directed at MSM are strength-based responses that acknowledge and build on the competencies and resources men possess.

Empowerment is a crucial component to HIV/AIDS programming. Supporting and respecting self-determination and self-initiated programs and policy responses is central to our work.
